Karnak in the morning, then aboard at Esna for lunch and the first afternoon under sail.
Seven Nights, Luxor to Luxor
Luxor · Esna · Edfu · Kom Ombo · Aswan · Gebel el-Silsila · Luxor
The programme, day by day
- 7 nights aboard
- 8 temples
- 2 directions
Seven nights aboard, one boat, one cabin, and the Nile in both directions. You sail south to Aswan over four days, spend a day there with Abu Simbel open to you, and then come north again on a different wind — which means seeing the same banks in a different light, and stopping at the places the southbound leg sails past. You end where you started, at Luxor, with the west bank saved for the last morning.
Collected from your Luxor hotel every Saturday and driven to the boat at Esna · October to April
The temple of Horus early, and then a long day on the water.
Kom Ombo above the river, and the reach south towards Aswan.
Into Aswan, and across to the island temple of Isis in the afternoon.
A day at Aswan. Abu Simbel can be arranged for this morning — the great rock temples of Ramses, moved whole when the lake rose behind the dam.
A full day on the water, the banks going by the other way, the wind behind the sail.
The gorge and its rock-cut shrines, a village on the bank, and the last night aboard.
Breakfast aboard, then the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut and the Colossi before we take you on in Luxor.
Priced per person, double occupancy. Christmas, New Year and Easter are quoted separately.
